Armenia, India interested in deepening cooperation in all directions

YEREVAN, APRIL 25, ARTSAKHPRESS. Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan held a meeting on April 25 with the Ambassador of India Nilakshi Saha Sinha.

Simonyan congratulated the ambassador on taking office and wished achievements in her responsible position.

“The sides stated that the Armenian-Indian relations are on the highest level ever and that the sides are interested in deepening partnership in all sectors,” the parliament’s press service said in a readout.

Simonyan asked the ambassador to relay greetings to his Indian counterpart Om Birla with whom he had a comprehensive conversation during the latest IPU Assembly.

The Speaker also noted the productive work of the Armenia-India Parliamentary Friendship Group and expressed hope that a friendship group will be formed in the Indian parliament as well.

The positive cooperation between Armenia and India in international platforms was noted and the mutual-trust over vital issues in international organizations was highlighted.

Issues relating to the region, Armenia and the crisis in Lachin Corridor were discussed.

The Ambassador of India thanked for the reception and expressed readiness to maintain contact with the Armenian parliament and contribute to the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
