YEREVAN, JANUARY 26, ARTSAKHPRESS. The delegation led by the Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan met with the President of Football Association of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani.
The President of Football Association of Qatar, who initiated the meeting, presented the projects to be implemented immediately after the FIFA World Cup held in Doha a month ago, the parliament’s press service said in a press release.
Speaker Simonyan noted that the organization of the world games was a great challenge for Qatar, which the country accepted with honour. Alen Simonyan said that football is the most watched and most popular sports in Armenia too, and there is a problem of development of the infrastructure and investments.
At the meeting the proposal by the President of the Football Federation of Armenia Armen Melikbekyan was conveyed to the President of Football Association of Qatar to have a friendly match of Armenia-Qatar National teams. The proposal was gladly accepted.
