Issues related to the development of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) were discussed during the meeting, according to a read-out issued by the foreign ministry.

Mirzoyan and Grandi discussed the humanitarian issues resulting from the 44-Day War of 2020 and the Azerbaijani aggression against sovereign territory of Armenia, underscoring the urgency to address them. In this context, the issues of support to the displaced persons in these events were discussed.

The necessity to resolve the grave humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh resulting from the blockade of Lachin corridor was also emphasized. FM Mirzoyan attached importance to deploying an international fact-finding mission to Lachin corridor and Nagorno Karabakh, as well as the unimpeded humanitarian access of UN agencies, including the UNHCR to Nagorno Karabakh.
