Armenian-Turkish border would’ve been opened long ago if no preconditions existed – lawmaker

YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARTSAKHPRESS. Armenia’s narrative in context of normalization with Turkey is that Turkey must not depend on Armenia’s relations with third countries, MP Babken Tunyan said at a press briefing when asked whether or not Turkey views the Azerbaijani factor as a precondition.

“We are talking about normalization without preconditions. Naturally, if there were no preconditions the border would’ve been opened long ago. Now, if they are bringing forward preconditions, we are saying that we have our red lines and vision, that the countries must have normal relations with each other. Two countries, while normalizing their relations, must not depend on our relations with third countries,” the MP said.

Tunyan said that Armenia’s narrative is clear for the international community.
