YEREVAN, DECEMBER 23, ARTSAKHPRESS. On December 23, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with the US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Senior Advisor on Caucasian Negotiations Philip Reeker. As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, during the telephone conversation, the security situation in the South Caucasus region, the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, and the latest developments over the Nagorno Karabakh issue were discussed. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia presented to the interlocutor the situation created as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan starting from December 12, emphasizing that the actions of Azerbaijan are aimed at creating a humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh and subjecting the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing. Ararat Mirzoyan also emphasized that Azerbaijan violates its obligations under the tripartite declaration of November 9, 2020 and grossly violates international humanitarian law. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia emphasized the international community’s response in the context of the restoration of unhindered traffic through the Lachin Corridor.
