Azeri media debunk their own state narrative, confirm that Artsakh is blockaded

YEREVAN, JANUARY 10, ARTSAKHPRESS. The Azeri media promoting the state propaganda published articles in an attempt to falsely claim that Artsakh is not blockaded, but the articles clearly show the opposite, the Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) General Prosecution said in a statement.

The articles say that during the blockade of the Stepanakert-Goris road, 370 different types of vehicles passed along the road in both ways, 330 of which by the Russian peacekeepers, 31 by the International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC – (including ambulances), and other ambulances by “residents of Artsakh”.

“In order to expose the falseness of the Azeri narrative it is simply necessary to reveal three statistical data: before the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia (the Stepanakert-Goris road), according to data of November 2022, between 380 to 400 tons of food and other goods of public necessity were supplied from Armenia to Artsakh every day (10,260 to 10,800 tons in 27 days), an average of 454 vehicles traveled from Armenia to Artsakh in one direction every day (12,258 in 27 days), and more than 1,200 people (32,400 in 27 days). It is noteworthy that the abovementioned figures are lower not only compared to the pre-2020 war period, but also for meeting the required demand for ensuring the average level of welfare of the 120,000 population.

With the abovementioned articles, the Azerbaijani media also confirmed that the residents of Artsakh Republic are deprived of the opportunity of moving along the corridor and connection with Republic of Armenia, and that only Russian peacekeepers and ICRC representatives traveled along the corridor.

Thus, these statistical figures and arguments vividly and clearly reflect the entire reality in Artsakh today, and that Azerbaijan spares no effort to conceal it from the international community,” the Artsakh General Prosecution said in a statement.
