YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 15, ARTSAKHPRESS.The winter season is doing well, booking rates are high – 5% more than in 2019, everything points to a record-setting season, said caretaker Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov on February 15 at the opening of the Holiday and Spa Expo at Sofia’s Inter Expo Center.
He pointed out that this exhibition is of key importance for tourism and outlined this year’s highlights of the event program – quality of service and human resources in tourism. Former ministers of tourism took part in the opening of the event. Minister Dimitrov said that this is a demonstration of succession. In tourism, there should be no disruption, nothing starts with us and we should follow policies, tourism shouldn’t be politicized and it must be a national cause, the Minister said.
The Minister also commented on the upcoming summer season in tourism, noting the good rates of early holiday reservations.
This year, the Ministry of Tourism provided 14 companies and firms in the tourism industry with the opportunity to participate for free in the international expo, as part of the project Increasing the capacity of SMIs in the tourism industry by providing support for the creation and functioning of the Organizations for management of tourism regions, funded by Operational Program Innovations and Competitiveness, the Ministry announced earlier during the day.
