YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARTSAKHPRESS. At least 76 people died and 440 were injured when a magnitude 7,4 earthquake hit Turkey’s Kahramanmaraş Province, the Anadolu news agency reports.
The quake struck just after 4 a.m. Monday morning local time.
42 aftershocks were recorded from the time the quake hit until 06:30. The strongest aftershock measured magnitude 6,6.
The earthquake destroyed over 100 buildings in different cities.
The earthquake is one of the strongest earthquakes to hit Turkey in more than 100 years, according to CNN.
