“Invaders came and left, but we’ve been living on this holy land for thousands of years” – Nagorno Karabakh premier

Artsakh

YEREVAN, JANUARY 6, ARTSAKHPRESS. State Minister of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) Ruben Vardanyan congratulated citizens of Artsakh on Christmas.

In a statement issued on social media, Vardanyan noted that this year the people of Artsakh are celebrating Christmas in highly unusual conditions. He emphasized, however, that it is impossible to repress the Armenian people with hardships.

Vardanyan was referring to the Azeri blockade of Lachin Corridor, the only road connecting Nagorno Karabakh with the outside world. The blockade is ongoing since December 12, 2022.

Vardanyan said that no blockade, no pressure or threat is capable of breaking the Artsakh people’s spirit, will and determination to live in their homeland.

“We’ve had more difficult times throughout our history. Those who wanted to conquer our fatherland came and left, while we’ve been living on this holy land for thousands of years, and we will continue to live here. Any difficult period is temporary, but our values, legacy and faith are permanent. Dear Artsakhians, merry Christmas,” Vardanyan said.
