YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARTSAKHPRESS. International organizations should have access to Nagorno Karabakh for humanitarian aid, Italian Member of Parliament Giulio Centemero (Lega), the head of the Italy-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group has said on April 24.

In a statement, Centemero noted that the Italian parliament has recognized the Armenian Genocide that took place in 1915 in the Ottoman Empire.

He noted with regret that the Armenian people are today again in humanitarian crisis because of the closure of the Lachin Corridor resulting from the demonstrations by self-proclaimed eco-activists.

“In this regard the International Court of Justice expressed its opinion on February 22, ordering Azerbaijan, in line with its obligations, to use all available means to guarantee the movement of people, vehicles and goods along the Lachin Corridor in both directions, without obstructions. Nothing has been done so far,” Centemero said in the statement released through the Embassy of Armenia in Italy.

He expressed hope that peace talks will resume to finally ensure the rights and security of the Armenians.

“Access of international organizations into Nagorno Karabakh must be facilitated for necessary humanitarian aid,” he added.
