YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARTSAKHPRESS. The installation of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan in Lachin Corridor requires additional mediation efforts from Russia and Moscow will continue to contribute to the implementation of the trilateral agreements between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said.

Commenting on Azerbaijan setting up a checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor, Peskov said that “the situation is really difficult” and “requires additional efforts” and understanding from Yerevan and Baku that “there is no alternative” to the implementation of the trilateral agreements between Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.

“Russia continues its mediation efforts, mainly the efforts for implementing all terms of the trilateral documents signed two years ago. Russia will continue to work in this direction together with Yerevan and Baku. We continue contacts. We work with the capitals, I mean with both Yerevan and Baku, and we will continue this work,” TASS quoted Peskov as saying.

On April 23, Azerbaijan again violated the trilateral statement of 2020 and blocked the Hakari Bridge in Lachin Corridor by illegally setting up a checkpoint.
