YEREVAN, APRIL 12, ARTSAKHPRESS. Armenia’s positions regarding the CSTO are clear, public and transparent, according to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, they are legitimate and justified, ARTSAKHPRESS.reports the Prime Minister said during the Cabinet-parliament Q&A session in the National Assembly, referring to the question of Sisak Gabrielyan, MP from the Civil Contract faction.

Pashinyan emphasized that he does not agree with the previous government’s claims that the Armenian-Russian relations deteriorated during the current government.

“How did they deteriorate, if they are talking about deteriorating, I want to remind you that during the previous government, it was the first time when Russia signed a multi-billion dollar arms deal with Azerbaijan. If they maintained good relations, so what did they do that our strategic ally for the first time signed a multibillion-dollar arms sales deal with Azerbaijan in 2011 and 2012, and at the same time limited arms supplies to Armenia,” said the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan noted that he learned this from a letter written by Serzh Sargsyan in 2016, which is very well preserved in the archive under the “top secret” label.

Referring to the criticism that the current government has caused problems related to the CSTO, Pashinyan said that the above was the biggest problem related to the CSTO.

“I think you can see both the dynamics of Armenia-Russia relations, and the existing problems. We never want to hide any nuances, and it is not right to hide them. Our positions regarding the CSTO are clear, public, transparent and, in my opinion, legitimate and justified,” said Pashinyan.
