YEREVAN, JANUARY 23, ARTSAKHPRESS. The Civil Contract faction of parliament will not initiate a process of stripping opposition MPs of their mandates because the legislators have ended their boycott and are attending sessions, Speaker Alen Simonyan said.

He noted that the number of allowed absences by the opposition MPs have been exceeded.

“But we decided not to do that this time because they’ve returned to parliament. That’s a step forward,” Simonyan said.]

Earlier the motion seeking to apply to the Constitutional Court to strip the opposition MPs of their mandates was included in the agenda of the Council of the National Assembly.
