PM Pashinyan, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative discuss cooperation, developments in South Caucasus

YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARTSAKHPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with Javier Colomina Píriz, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia to discuss the Armenia-NATO cooperation and the processes taking place in South Caucasus, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a read-out.

The Armenian Prime Minister spoke about the humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh resulting from the Azerbaijani blockade of Lachin Corridor. PM Pashinyan emphasized that with this provocative step Azerbaijan is once again violating the 9 November 2020 trilateral statement. He highlighted the international community’s attention and targeted reaction to the events.

Javier Colomina Píriz expressed concern over the situation resulting from the blockade of the Lachin Corridor and attached importance to ensuring uninterrupted functioning of the corridor.

The NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative added that NATO is interested in stability and peace in the region and is expressing support to the efforts by international partners in this direction.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
