President Khachaturyan meets Armenian community of Estonia, development of ties with Diaspora discussed

YEREVAN, JANUARY 16, ARTSAKHPRESS. President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with representatives of the Armenian community in Estonia during his working visit to the country.

The Armenian Ambassador to Estonia Hovhannes Igityan and the Pontifical Vicar of the Diocese of Baltic States of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Vardan Navasardyan accompanied the president, Khachaturyan’s office said in a press release. 

President Khachaturyan attached importance to Armenia’s readiness to enhance multi-layered relations with Estonia and other Baltic countries. In this context the Armenian president underscored the intensification of high-level contacts in terms of developing both the Eastern partnership and bilateral relations.

In his speech, Khachaturyan addressed the general situation in Armenia and the region, the Azeri aggression against Armenia’s territorial integrity in September 2022, as well as the ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor, and Armenia’s principles on establishing dignified and sustainable peace in the region and good-neighborly relations with neighboring countries.

Bishop Vardan Navasardyan thanked the Armenian president for the meeting and emphasized the importance of such visits and contacts for the Armenian communities.

The representatives of the Armenian community asked questions to the President during the meeting. A discussion took place on substantial possibilities and full utilization of potential for developing the effective and close partnership between Armenia, the Diaspora, Armenian communities and organizations.
