YEREVAN, JANUARY 12, ARTSAKHPRESS. The presence of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is one of the main guarantees that is restraining the Turkish-Azeri tandem from completing their plans on depopulating Artsakh, the Foreign Minister of Artsakh Sergey Ghazaryan said.

“In this concrete situation, one of the main goals the Azeri side was pursuing was to incite a wave of discontent among the Armenian population against the Russian peacekeepers. Azerbaijan is trying to discredit the activities of Russian peacekeepers by all means,” Ghazaryan added.

The Foreign Minister of Artsakh said that in this given situation the role of the Russian peacekeepers is becoming more important because Azerbaijan is by all means impeding food and medicine supply into Artsakh, but the Russian peacekeepers must be involved in order for the essential products to be brought in.
