Turkey deploys attack drones in Northern Cyprus

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 7, ARTSAKHPRESS. On October 7, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the deployment of drones in the partially recognized Northern Cyprus, ARMENPRESS reports, Interfax informs, citing Anadolu agency.

“Turkey has deployed drones in Northern Cyprus, including attack drones. I do not rule out new supplies of arms to the island. It is our right. We must fully secure the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from all sides,” Erdogan said.

According to him, the deployment of drones was Turkey’s first step in response to the US decision to cancel the arms embargo against the Republic of Cyprus.

In addition, Erdogan allowed the creation of a new military base in Northern Cyprus. At the same time, the Turkish president reminded that Turkish Air Force planes are capable of quickly reaching Cyprus.
