Turkey paroles convicted assassin of Hrant Dink


YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARTSAKHPRESS. The convicted murderer of Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink has been released on parole after serving 16 years in prison, Ermeni Haber reports.

According to the report, the murderer Ogun Samast was paroled for good conduct.

In 2011, Samast was sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing Agos Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink. 

He was tried by a juvenile court as he was under 18 at the time of the murder.

Hrant Dink was assassinated in Istanbul in front of his newspaper’s office on January 19, 2007.
