Armenia Parliament Majority Leader calls for increased international pressure on Azerbaijan to open Lachin Corridor

YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, ARTSAKHPRESS. The Head of the Civil Contract faction in parliament Hayk Konjoryan sent letters to United States lawmakers and parliamentarians of Greece and Cyprus, calling for increased international pressure against Azerbaijan to open the Lachin Corridor and fulfill its obligations.

“As head of the Armenia-United States parliamentary friendship group, today I sent letters to United States Congressmen, members of the Congressional Armenian Caucus Gus Bilirakis, Frank Pallone, David Valadao, as well as the Co-Chair of the Caucus Adam Schiff. As head of the Armenia-Greece parliamentary friendship group, I sent a letter to the Greece-Armenia parliamentary friendship group leader Dimitrios Markopoulos, as Chairman of the Inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation between the Armenian parliament and the Cypriot parliament I sent a letter to my counterpart Haris Georgiades. I presented details over Azerbaijan’s criminal policy of unlawfully blockading the Lachin Corridor and causing a humanitarian crisis in Artsakh. I called on my colleagues to utilize all necessary efforts and increase international pressure on Azerbaijan to open the Lachin Corridor as soon as possible and fulfill its international obligations,” Konjoryan said in a statement.
