Pashinyan, Putin held 6 bilateral meetings and 20 phone calls in 2022

YEREVAN, APRIL 17, ARTSAKHPRESS. The Pashinyan Administration’s Government Program’s 2022 report includes a clause on Armenia’s relations with Russia.

It mentions that in 2022 Armenia continued to expand cooperation with Russia in the political, economic, military, security and other directions.

Events celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations were held during the year.

On April 19-20, 2022, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Russia on an official trip where numerous cooperation agreements were signed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Armenia in November 2022 for the CSTO Collective Security Council session.

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held 6 bilateral meetings and 20 phone calls during 2022.

The Armenian Prime Minister also held 3 meetings and 2 phone calls with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in 2022.

During his official visit to Russia, PM Pashinyan also met with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

During 2022 the Armenian Prime Minister also met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Yerevan hosted the 9th Armenian-Russian inter-regional conference and Armenian-Russian Business Dialogue in September 2022, after which the two governments signed the 2022-2025 economic cooperation program.

The Armenian and Russian Deputy Prime Ministers co-chaired the 21st session of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in December 2022 in Moscow.

The Armenian and Russian foreign ministers held 8 meetings and 10 phone calls during the year.

Other high-ranking mutual visits of government officials also took place during the year.

Trade turnover between Armenia and Russia totaled around 5 billion USD in 2022 – a 91,7% growth compared to 2021.
