YEREVAN, JANUARY 11, ARTSAKHPRESS. The topic of deploying UN peacekeepers to Nagorno Karabakh was on the agenda many times, but any mission can be involved only at the consent of both parties to the conflict – Yerevan and Baku, the Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, TASS reports.

“Permanent contacts are taking place on various levels. Certainly, this topic has been on the agenda many times. But it’s obvious that any mission can be sent only at the consent of the two parties to the conflict,” the Kremlin spokesperson said when asked whether or not the Armenian and Russian leaders have discussed this issue.

TASS also quoted the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who recently said that if Russia is unable to fulfill its obligations Russia itself can initiate the deployment of a multinational mission to Nagorno Karabakh through the UN Security Council.
